Senior Center
Come join us at the Senior Center! Not only does the Center offer a variety of activities, programs and events, it also offers new friendships and smiles. We are located at 3102 Mabeline Road next to the Recreation Department Gym and are generally open Monday – Friday from 9am – 4pm. Thursday evenings we are open 5:30pm-8:00pm. Come line dance, play Bingo and/or billiards, or spend some time with new friends......not to mention the yummy homemade treats!
Membership to the Senior Center is free for residents of Berkeley County 54 and older. There is a $20.00 annual membership fee for folks living outside of Berkeley County.
The Center offers classes in exercise (Sit 'n Fit), beginner, intermediate/advanced line dance, Nia (to learn the joy of movement), Stretch & Flex, Belly Dance, beginner computer, knitting, and Art classes. Some of the instructors of these classes charge a nominal fee, paid directly to them on the day of class, others are free. In addition, the Center has a Singing Group, Friendship Quilters Group, Craft Group, Pinochle, Bingo, Canasta, Bridge, Game Day, Billiards, and Wii Sports Competitions ~ all free of charge. All you need is a desire to participate. Our members are very welcoming. Try something new; our veteran members will show you how!
Our next Wellness Workshop will begin on July 15th. It's an absolutely wonderful program to guide folks to "living well." It's designed for people with arthritis, asthma, heart, breathing or back problems & other ongoing health conditions. Learn new ways to take charge in this six-week workshop presented here by the Lowcountry Senior Center.
