Hanahan Robotics 2017 State Champions!

Congratulations to Hanahan Robotics!  The Hanahan EngiDeers recently won the state championship and will be representing Hanahan and South Carolina at the World Festival in April!  To learn more about this awesome youth program, contact the Hanahan Recreation and Parks Department!

 

Youth Programs

Here are some of the different Youth Programs the City of Hanahan Parks & Recreation Department offers.

 

tumbling classWe build strong muscles, character and courage through the fascinating sport of gymnastics, tumbling!

Ages: 5-12 Boys and Girls.

Class size is limited so please register early!  Cost is $65 per month for 8 classes.

Monday and Wednesday class time is 6-7pm.  Classes are held at the Yeamans Hall Gym.

Wildfire Dance is a recreational dance program for children ages 3 to 18.  Wildfire Dance is an extra curricular activity that incorporates the styles of hip hop, pom and jazz in each class while promoting fitness, building, coordination and having fun!

Classes and times vary from season to season.

Lego Robotics 2015First Lego League (FLL) is an exciting alliance between FIRST and LEGO Group.  It’s a robotics program for 9 to 16 year old’s (9 to 14 in US, CAN, MEX), which is designed to get children excited about science and technology and teach them valuable employment and life skills.

Teams of up to 10 kids program an autonomous robot (using a LEGO Mindstorms robot set) to score points on a thematic playing surface, create an innovative solution to a problem as part of their Project, all while guided by the FLL Core Values.
