What is the Explorer program?
The Hanahan Police Department Explorer Post helps build relationships with the city’s youth, while exposing them to the Law Enforcement profession. Being with certified police officers and exposure to the Law Enforcement field has proven to be a rewarding and invaluable experience for the future of the Hanahan community.
When do we meet?
The Explorer Post meets on Saturdays at Fishburne Education Center from 2:00pm – 5:00pm. There is a possibility of time changes with different events that we will participate in.
Who is eligible?
Anyone who is 14 years of age and older til the maximum age of 21 years of age. Applicants must not have any major criminal offenses or major disciplinary offenses at their current school. Qualified candidates must complete an application and submit to the Explorer Advisory Board which contains State of South Carolina sworn Police officers
What do we do?
The Hanahan Police Department Explorer program participates in different community events, community and program fundraisers, participates in cadet challenges and learns different skill sets needed to be a successful Law Enforcement Officer. The skills learned help Cadets and prospects in their daily life in terms of discipline, physical education, social interaction and much more.
