During our recent City Council meeting several of our staff were noted for their accomplishments. We would like to take the time to share them with our community members.
Drayton Hancock was recognized for employee of the month due to his hard work in helping the City with its COVID response. Drayton is an Engineer who not only fights fire and provides EMS care, but he also is serving as our Logistics Section Chief for the City of Hanahan’s COVID Response Effort. He has the added responsibility of ordering, accounting, and distributing supplies for all City Departments during any emergency operation. On top of all this he also works with SC DHEC as a COVID Tester, traveling across the state to provide testing to anyone who may need it. Most recently he was noted for providing immense help in the successful operation of a COVID test site in Richland County. Engineer Hancock does all this while maintain a high standard and a positive attitude. He truly embodies the culture we are developing at the Hanahan Fire Department.
Engineer Hancock, Engineer Finneran, FF/AEMT Carroll, Sgt. Teston, and Deputy Chief Bargeron were recognized by a member of the Hanahan Community for their exemplary service during a call, not just providing high quality care to the patient but also comforting the family during the process.
Engineer Vanhorn was recognized by the Exchange Club for being awarded firefighter of the year. Over the past year, Cody has exemplified the traits that are, and have been, the hallmark of the fire service for almost two centuries. Through his is dedication, perseverance, service, and integrity to the citizens of our city Cody has truly earned this award.
Way to go team! Congratulations and we are proud of you.
