Yesterday, after 35 years of service  with the The City of Hanahan  Fire Department, Engineer Arthur Michael Ray officially retired. Artie, as he is known by his crews, started at HFD in June of 1983, he rose to the rank of Captain and retired initially in 2010. He returned shortly after and obtained the rank

Assistant Chief Byron Guidry Sr.

With great sadness, Hanahan City Fire Department announced the death of retired Assistant Chief Byron Keith Guidry Sr. who passed on December 4. Chief Guidry gave 26 years to the city of Hanahan, joining in 1983. He spent his career helping others and was responsible for shaping many young men and women into great firefighters.
