Courtney Soler moved to Charleston in her Freshman year of high school with the goal of becoming a law enforcement officer. After graduating from the College of Charleston with an accounting degree, she joined the City of Charleston Police Department as an Officer in 2001. While at the Charleston Police Department she was also their first Budget Analyst; managing over a 40 Million dollar budget.
In 2010, Courtney became the City of Hanahan’s first Finance Director. It was during this time that Courtney discovered that the City of Hanahan was the perfect place to raise her family. Courtney and Guillermo, have three children, Judah, Quinn and Viviana Soler. They attend Bowens Corner Elementary and Hanahan Middle School.
In 2016, Courtney took a position as CFO of the Gibbes Museum of Art. During her time there she enjoyed being part of such a historical and cultural institution; but her heart was still in Hanahan. In 2020, Courtney returned to the City of Hanahan, as the Finance Director with a primary goal of fiduciary responsibility to the Citizens of Hanahan. She is committed to oversee the handling of public funds strategically, prudently and appropriately; and to protect The Cities assets, while offering excellent public services.
