Bryan was born in Charleston, South Carolina.  After graduating from Stratford High School, Bryan attended Florida State University and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminology.  He returned to the lowcountry and served as a police officer with the Mount Pleasant Police Department from 1995 to 2000.  During his tenure with Mount Pleasant Police Department, he was a Field Training Officer, member of department’s SWAT team, Crisis Negotiation team and attained rank of Corporal before leaving the department to attend the University of South Carolina School of Law. 

After graduating from law school and becoming a member of the South Carolina Bar in 2003, Bryan went to work for the Ninth Circuit Solicitor’s office as an Assistant Solicitor in Charleston County.  During his time as an Assistant Solicitor, Bryan prosecuted a variety of criminal cases in both Family Court and General Sessions court, including drug crimes, firearm offenses, property crimes, and violent crimes. In 2007, Solicitor Scarlett Wilson promoted Bryan to the position of Deputy Solicitor, where he was responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Berkeley County Solicitor’s Office.  In addition to his administrative and management duties, Bryan prosecuted a caseload of primarily violent and serious criminal offenses, such as Murder, Attempted Murder, Felony DUI, Drug Trafficking, Criminal Sexual Conduct, Assaults, and Burglary.  In 2021, Bryan was promoted to the position of Chief Deputy Solicitor, where he was the Solicitor’s second in command, overseeing both the Charleston and Berkeley Solicitor’s Offices.  

In February 2023, Bryan left the Solicitor’s Office and to open his own law office, Alfaro Law Firm, LLC, in Moncks Corner, SC to provide legal services to the people of Berkeley, Charleston, and Dorchester counties, as well as other areas throughout the state.
