Frank Waddell


Lieutenant Frank Waddell grew up in Hanahan and is a 1995 graduate of Hanahan High School and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Workforce Education and Development from Southern Illinois University. Lt. Waddell has worked most recently with multiple task force assignments with a focus on major case investigations, drug enforcement and fugitive apprehension.

Throughout his career, Lt. Waddell has received extensive training in patrol tactics, criminal interdiction, investigations and tactical operations. Lt. Waddell also holds multiple instructor certifications, is a graduate of the 2015 LECC/SCLEOA Commander’s School, and was previously recognized as Hanahan Police Department Officer of the Year (2009).

Lt. Waddell’s career to-date has included assignments as a K9 Handler, Patrol Sergeant, Investigator/Detective and Task Force Training Coordinator. Lt. Waddell is currently the Operations Command Lieutenant overseeing the Patrol and K9 Divisions within the department.
