Kristine Amara

Biography

Kristine Amara moved to the Charleston area in 2013 from Massachusetts.  In November 2022, Kristine became the HR Director for the City of Hanahan. She is proud to live in Hanahan with her husband Brian and their twins Joshua and Audrianna.  They currently attend Hanahan High School. Her two adult children, Anthony, and Joseph, reside in Massachusetts.

Prior to joining the City, Kristine held the position of Business Operations manager for a local manufacturing firm in Charleston, SC and previously held the position of Director of Financial Operations in the Retirement Services division of the MassMutual Financial group headquartered in Springfield, MA.

Kristine’s vision for the city as HR Director is to foster a positive, collaborative, and safe work environment for all staff.   Most importantly, to encourage a culture for our staff that is centered on our citizens and the very special community of Hanahan, SC.
